I feel like you only pay minimum wage because you are required by law to do so rather than because it's morally correct. JUST like every other corporation is doing. It is just an excuse you use to keep wages down to increase your short term profits. What makes you think drivers would not give excellent service to receive even MORE money if they weren't paid a server's wage? Despicable corporate greed while you pay minimum wage to your employees and BELOW minimum wage to drivers because you leave it to customers to pay your drivers in tips, but they aren't required to tip so your drivers aren't required to get paid even though they work right?Īnd don't give us the crap excuse that tip wage is there to encourage excellent service. Managment got irritated because I finally said I couldn't come in yet I came in on days off most times because I knew the company would need help and almost every day I stayed hours pat my scheduled time to help even when their shift leaders wouldn't even answer their sale. They will call you on your day off most times to help out because somebody didn't show or the day crew was scheduled to light. Lastly they expect key players to pick up the slack everybody can't stay 3-5 after their scheduled time to help out because of incompetent people. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to knock someone out because of their disrespect towards me and others (or I'very felt threatened enough to defend myself). The environment can be hostile if there are problems between co-workers. They sometimes reward due to seniority to people who don't deserve it. Furthermore classes can be impossible to go to for students (high schoolers, full time college kids) who really would like to grow with the company. They schedule hours inadequately for given times (mostly during peak hours), won't promote within unless you go to scheduled class at the corporate office forcing you to stay in the same place. Managment is nice and understanding to the point of having an extra father or mother but lack a since of balance for the company environment. Not to mention dramatic teens who haven't learned the qualities of being a team member, but most importantly how to be leaders and have respect for themselves and their elders. Lost of lazy people who work when they want to and won't be fired because of the stores need of them due to high sale value. Crew members are either positive, up beat, and hard working.
